SMS Consent

How Stemfra account holders opt in to receive text message alerts, and exactly what they agree to. This page is published so it can be reviewed without a Stemfra account.

Where the opt-in happens

A business owner creates a Stemfra account at stemfra.com, then opens Profile → Notification settings in their dashboard at cms.stemfra.com. There they enter their mobile number and tick a box that is empty by default. Nothing is sent until that box is ticked, and ticking it is not required to use Stemfra.

The opt-in, step by step

  1. 1

    Open Profile, then Notification settings

The account holder signs in to their Stemfra dashboard at cms.stemfra.com and opens Notification settings from their profile menu. Text message alerts sit at the top of that page.

The Stemfra dashboard Notification settings page, showing the Text message alerts card above the notification preferences table.
  2. 2

    The consent form, untouched

The box is empty by default and nothing is sent until it is ticked. Ticking it is not required to use Stemfra. The button stays disabled until both a valid mobile number is entered and the box is ticked.

The Text message alerts card with an empty mobile number field, an unticked consent checkbox showing the full consent wording, and a disabled "Turn on text alerts" button.
  3. 3

    Number entered and consent given

Only once the account holder has entered their own mobile number and ticked the box does the button become available. The form shows the exact number it will text back, so there is no ambiguity about what was consented to. Submitting records the consent with a timestamp and sends a confirmation text.

The same card with a mobile number filled in, the number echoed back in full international format, the consent checkbox ticked, and the "Turn on text alerts" button now enabled.

The consent language

Message frequency
Varies with your own activity. A busy week means more messages; a quiet one means fewer. There is no cap and no fixed schedule.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Stemfra does not charge for these alerts.

Customer messages sent for businesses on Stemfra

Separately from account alerts, Stemfra sends text messages on behalf of the businesses that use it, to those businesses’ own customers: appointment reminders, a review invitation after a visit, and occasional updates such as a birthday greeting. Every message names the business it is sent for. A customer only ever receives these after opting in themselves, one of two ways.

Opt-in 1: the booking form

When a customer books an appointment on a business’s website, the “Your details” step shows a checkbox that is empty by default. Booking does not require ticking it, and nothing is sent unless the customer ticks it and provides their own mobile number.

The booking form's Your details step: name, email and phone fields, and an unticked consent checkbox with the full SMS consent wording, above the Confirm booking button.

Opt-in 2: the email invitation

Businesses may email their existing customers about their new website. That email contains a “prefer text reminders?” link addressed to that customer alone. Tapping it records the opt-in with a timestamp and shows this confirmation, including how to opt out again:

The public opt-in confirmation page: You're in! We'll text booking reminders and occasional updates to the number ending in the customer's digits. Reply STOP to any text to opt out again.

The consent language

Text me appointment reminders and occasional updates from this business. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
